Planning a deep clean in Santa Monica
Santa Monica has a large share of apartments. The city's Rent Control Board counted 27,589 controlled rental units at the end of 2025, and most controlled buildings have 10 or fewer units. When you book, share the square footage, the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, the floor the unit is on and whether there is an elevator, so supplies and time can be planned.
Close to the beach, sand and grit come in on shoes, beach bags and pets and settle along floor edges, entry tile and baseboards. A deep clean includes detailed dusting of baseboards, trim, vents and ledges, and detailed floor cleaning along edges and corners. Routine visits do not include baseboards; deep and move-in or move-out cleans do.
In bathrooms, a deep clean removes soap scum and mineral build-up and scrubs grout, tile and fixtures. In the kitchen, it degreases the stovetop and hood exterior and details appliance and cabinet exteriors. Inside the oven, fridge, cabinets and drawers, and interior windows and tracks are add-ons.
Parts of Santa Monica are preferential parking zones, where street parking needs a permit, and households in a zone can buy up to two visitor permits that work in any vehicle. Tell Ascend whether the cleaner can use a visitor permit, a driveway or a building space, and share entry, gate and buzzer instructions.
