🧹 Marina del Rey
Cleaning plans for homes beside the harbor
Marina del Rey is an unincorporated community of Los Angeles County, surrounded by the City of Los Angeles, with about 9,000 residents around the largest constructed small-craft harbor in North America. The County owns the land and leases it to private companies that build and manage the apartment complexes, so building rules shape a booking here as much as the size of your home.

🧹 Before you book
Three details that make a Marina del Rey clean go smoothly
Explain the building entry
Share the gate or call-box steps, any front-desk check-in, your building or tower, unit number and floor, and whether a cleaner's name must be added to a visitor list ahead of time.
Say where a visitor can park
Tell us about guest spaces in your garage or the nearest public lot. The County's Marina lots use pay-and-display machines and are checked daily for violations, so a cleaner needs to know where parking is allowed.
Plan around harbor events
On July 4th, street closures around the harbor can start as early as 1 p.m. ahead of the evening fireworks. Pick another day or an early slot when a large harbor event is scheduled.
Marina del Rey cleaning tips by home type
Marina del Rey covers 807 acres of land and water between Venice, the Ballona Wetlands and the harbor entrance channel. Los Angeles County owns all of it and leases parcels to private companies on long-term agreements, which build and manage the properties. Most homes here sit in large managed apartment complexes. Before your clean, check your building's rules for service visitors, such as front-desk check-in, visitor passes or set hours for vendors, and pass them on when you book.
Marina City Club, on Admiralty Way, is three high-rise towers with 600 condominium units and 101 rental apartments. County records describe it as the only ground lease in the Marina that allows condo ownership. In a tower, tell us which tower and floor you live on, how a visitor reaches the elevator and whether service providers must use a particular entrance. If your unit has several balcony doors, say which glass doors and sliding tracks matter most to you. Interior windows are a separate request.
Outside Marina City Club, homes on the County's leased parcels are rental apartments, so many Marina del Rey households rent. For a move-out clean, book it after the furniture is out, keep water and power on, and read your lease and the property manager's move-out instructions, including any elevator reservation or loading-area hours. Baseboards are included in deep and move-in or move-out cleaning, not in standard visits, and cabinets must be emptied before their interiors can be cleaned. Cleaners do not move refrigerators or heavy furniture.
The Department of Beaches and Harbors runs 15 public parking lots in Marina del Rey. They use pay-and-display machines, where a driver enters a plate number and pays for the time needed, and they are monitored daily for violations. If your building has a gated garage, say whether a visitor can use a guest space or your assigned spot and how the gate opens. Otherwise, name the public lot closest to your entrance so parking does not cut into the booked time.
The harbor has thousands of boat slips, and Marina Beach, known locally as Mother's Beach, sits inside the basin. If your household comes home from the water, the beach or the coastal bike path, name the doors you use most so entry floors and nearby rugs get priority, and mention any sandy patio or balcony doors. Ascend's listed services are for homes, and boats in the slips are not among them.
Every July 4th, the County's fireworks show over the main channel brings heavy traffic. In the County's posted plan, street closures can begin as early as 1 p.m., and from 8 to 11 p.m. there is no entry on Admiralty Way between Palawan Way and Fiji Way or on Lincoln Boulevard between Jefferson and Washington boulevards. Avoid booking that afternoon, or choose an early slot. When a very dirty home needs more than the booked time, the extra time is $75 per hour per cleaner.
