Moving out of a home in Hollywood Hills
Hollywood Hills streets include the narrow roads and sharp curves that LAFD's Red Flag parking program targets in Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones. On a Red Flag Day, declared when winds reach 25 mph or more and humidity is 15 percent or less, parking is banned on posted streets and illegally parked vehicles are towed. Check LAFD's Red Flag status before moving day and cleaning day.
Hollywood Hills apartments and condos are in the City of Los Angeles, where LAHD says the Rent Stabilization Ordinance generally covers rental properties first built on or before October 1, 1978. Deposits follow state law. California Civil Code 1950.5 limits cleaning deductions to returning the unit to its move-in cleanliness, for tenancies that began after January 1, 2003.
You can ask your landlord for an initial inspection no earlier than two weeks before move-out, then book the clean after it. Since April 1, 2025, a landlord who deducts for cleaning or repairs must photograph the unit after you return it and after that work, and send the photos with the itemized statement. Take your own dated photos when the cleaner finishes.
Hillside access takes planning. Tell Ascend about steps from the street, a steep driveway, gates or a split-level layout, and where a car can legally stop. The cleaner does not move fridges or heavy furniture, so make sure the movers clear every level first. The clean needs an empty home with furniture, boxes and belongings out, closets cleared, and water and electricity on, or the service defaults to a deep clean.
