Moving out of a home in Hermosa Beach
Hermosa Beach is a separate city that sells residential parking permits each year. The city notes that permits do not guarantee a space and are first come, first served, and posted street sweeping restrictions still apply. Near Pier Avenue and The Strand, decide where the van and the cleaner's car will go before moving day.
Under California Civil Code 1950.5, cleaning deductions from a security deposit are limited to what it takes to bring the unit back to its cleanliness at the start of the tenancy, for tenancies that began after January 1, 2003. Since April 1, 2025, California landlords who take money from a deposit for cleaning or repairs must photograph the unit once it is returned and once that work is complete, then include the photos with the itemized statement. Take dated photos of your own after the clean.
